    WWI 1914 Brass Shell Desk Lamp 16" Trench Art, Patronenfabrik Karlsruhe Germany

    Excellent condition, polished and rewired, ready to plug in. This is an authentic brass shell from WWI engraved by the 29th Vancouver Battalion known as CEF (Canadian Expeditionary Force). Shell is marked "1917 CF, RL, 6 PR III, P57". Beautiful hand engraved art: A crown, beaver, emblem of the Medical Corp, a snake and several leaves. Dated "August 4th 1914 - November 11th 1918, Overseas Canada Vancouver XXIX Battalion, Canadian Medical Corps." Cities this battalion fought in are also marked: Vimy, Amiens,Rosieres, Mons Iwuy, St Eloi, Ypres, Passchendaele, Hill 79, Lens Arras, Cambrai and Valenciennes. Bottom and top are wood and original, body is brass. Lamp measure 16.5 inches tall without its light bulb and shell has a 3 inches diameter. Supports any standard light bulb up to 660 watts. The Edison style light bulb in the photo is included.
